In this 21st-century computer, the application has become part of our daily operations. In most cases, it is the most reliable way for the purpose of completion of any complicated task, communication, record keeping and other day to day operations. Hence, computer literacy has taken place on the priority list for the different operational sector of this modern generation. This essay provides an analytical point of view on the significance of the computer literacy. It has established a thesis statement based on which a discussion has been made. This essay has also incorporated different opinions on this topic. In many countries across the globe, computer literacy programs have been taken seriously, and various steps have been adopted to utilize the facilities and advantages of using the computer in everyday practices. However, some opinions depict the negative impact of using computer excessively. As per Megarry (2013), using a computer for the simplest task has affected the intellectuality of human making it vulnerable to the technological aggression. On the contrary, Helander (2014), made it very clear that computer is an inseparable component for the modern generation, where errorless multi-tasking capability in less time is preferable. For the context of this essay, it has mainly evaluated the importance of the computer literacy for this sophisticated requirements of the modern generation. Speed and accuracy are the main concern in this century; hence having knowledge on the function of the computer is necessary. This essay has inculcated the significance of information technology lite racy in the modern generation and the thesis statement to establish the concept is Computer Plays a Major Role in the Modern Generation. Though this essay has taken an attempt to highlight the importance of the computer literacy in case of modern generation, there are concerns regarding the negative influence of the computer activities on the lifestyle of this new generation. Rosenberg (2013), mentioned nowadays people are more engaged to use the social platforms on the computer. It has taken the maximum part of life for the youth. However, van Dijk and van Deursen (2014), argued that computer is one of the best media that allows uninterrupted communication. On the other end of a spectrum, Bers, Doyle-Lynch and Chau (2012), as held computer activities responsible for becoming the youth of this generation less active both physically and socially. Nevertheless, there is no point of denial the fact that computer has helped to keep the data safe; moreover, a huge amount of information has become easy to access within a minute. Economic stability also depends on the technological advancement in too some extent. Expertise o n the computer is helpful to analyze the data faster resulting in taking a preventive measure from a potentially harmful event. Apart from that, the application of computer is the ultimate solution for forming an integrated system within an organization. However, Jacko (2012), taken up an issue by saying that though computer is the absolute mechanism, required for the development of the society, it is burdensome for the people to have this facility where regular education is not available. On this note, Baecker (2014), mentioned that it would take more time for the maximum part of the population to enjoy the goodness of the computer operations all over the world. Both in developing and under developed country initiatives have been taken by both government and non-government organizations to set up computer literacy programs within the course of general education so that children can become technically sound from the early stage of their education. Analysis on this topic would help to get a better idea of its validity and relevance in the present context as well as for the future prospect. The computer actually functions in a systematic way that involves calculation, logical implementation, critical analysis and the actual outcome. The computer cannot work on the incorrect information. Moreover, it does not rectify its operation. Knowledge of computer is important in this modern generation as half of the activities require technological support. In case of a business organization, the demand is to get correct information on the market; this requirement can be fulfilled by using the computer to make the database. Moreover, analysis can be done easily on the market scenario. For the social context, computer is helpful for the every dimension of the society. The computer has extended its service in every sector whether it is industrial sector, banking sector, hospitality management, education, traffic control and most importantly communication (Fluck et al., 2016). Due to the computer application communication has become accessible to all. The industrial sector has been immensely affected by the computer as it has helped this sector by providing the latest technology, logical tools, organized framework that supports the corporate management. On the other hand, computer is also important for the hospitality management as computer is capable of storing a large number of information in an organized way. Moreover, the computer works on the correct input that is why in the medical sector, computer application has become mandatory to maintain the information of the service users' safe so that it can be properly used during further requirement. For banking sector, monetary transaction across the globe has become a process on a fingertip. Many countries have economically flourished by promoting their locations as the tourist destination; it has only become possible due to the perfect presentation of those countries with the help of various technological tools of computer. Hence, it is clear that computer has contributed to this society to make it sophisticated and modern (Fraillon, Schulz Ainley, 2013). However, it is also a matter of concern people has confused computer applications to the internet surfing. Buckingham (2013), suggested that it should be understood by the society that there is a clear difference between the social networking sites and the computer application. Ii is true that computer applications are majorly dependant on the internet; however, computer is capable enough to sort out complicated tasks with the help of its applications without the internet. Therefore it is important to make people literate about the basic computer applications along with the importance of using the computer applications in a correct way so that negative impact does not overweigh the positive outcome of the company. On winding up, it can be concluded that this report has evaluated the importance of computer literacy for the modern society. Although there are some contradictions about the impact of the computer utilization excessively, it has to be accepted that computer has brought the flow in the lifestyle of this current society. From the science to the literature, from complicated operational requirements to regular daily works, computer is essential to make the life easier. For this generation, where time is precious and lots of things are to do on a list, computer is the only reliable approach that can make the things sorted out. This essay has incorporated the contents encircling the thesis statement and put the effort it valid and realistic. It has included different opinions to evaluate both the positive, negative side of the topic.
